Supporting Children with SEND

At God’s Grace Nursery, inclusion is at the heart of what we do. We believe every child deserves to feel safe, understood, valued and fully included in nursery life.

Our SENCO and experienced early years team work closely with parents, carers and relevant professionals to understand each child’s individual strengths, needs and interests. Where additional support is needed, we work together to put appropriate strategies in place and help each child participate, learn and thrive at their own pace.

We have experience supporting children with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, physical needs and other developmental differences. Our environment also includes calm and sensory-friendly spaces where children can regulate, relax and engage in activities suited to their individual needs.

Where appropriate, we work alongside professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, paediatric services and local SEND teams to provide joined-up support for children and their families.
